Storm Floris roared outside, but inside the cosy, playful tent of Assembly’s Bijou, Josh Burton carried on as Signor Baffo in the kitchen of Gordon Ramsay’s nightmares.
Was it worth braving the wind and rain with a three-year-old in tow? Absolutely! Every second of his performance was pure comedy gold.
This Edinburgh Fringe kids show thrives on interaction with the children in the audience – and as any parent knows, that can be anything but predictable. Josh navigates every unexpected comment, spontaneous question, and cheeky suggestion with ease. Whether he was organising the youngest dinosaur rock band or orchestrating an en masse meatball toss into a giant web of spaghetti, he had the kids completely hooked.
My three-year-old belly-laughed through the entire hour and leapt at every opportunity to join in. It was, without a doubt, a fantastic introduction to the Fringe for families – and an absolute delight for me to watch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’re looking for family theatre or a first live performance for little ones, Signor Baffo is a must-see. Expect silliness, surprises, and a generous helping of audience participation in this children’s comedy show.
Why take your kids?
- Perfect for first-time Fringe-goers – interactive, short enough for younger attention spans, and packed with visual comedy.
- They’ll be part of the action – from dinosaur rock bands to flying meatballs, the audience becomes part of the story.
- It’s fun for parents too – quick wit, clever improvisation, and moments of pure chaos that will have you laughing along.
- Memorable moments – your kids will likely spend the rest of the day re-enacting their favourite scenes (and you might find yourself joining in).
