My favourite wallpapers and fabrics for Spring/Summer 2019
With spring finally here and summer fast approaching, there is lots of greenery around us and it is only natural to want to bring some freshness indoors. Apart from the huge popularity of plants in recent years, there are other ways to introduce a bit of nature to your interiors. It is well documented that pattern has many benefits in invigorating the interior and, in my opinion, the naturalistic pattern is one of the easiest to live with. There are lots of beautiful wallpapers and fabrics out there at the moment (I certainly found it hard to pick only a few) so I have selected some of my favourites for this season.
Wallpapers
GREEN WALL by Osborne & Little – £125 per roll. It’s a beautiful wallpaper that gives an illusion of a living wall indoors with its vibrant all over design of a multitude of leaves. Bonus points for being washable!
CHIAVI SEGRETE by Fornasetti for Cole & Son – £175 per roll. It has a mystical quality with the hidden keys amongst the tree leaves. It comes in two colourways but my favourite is the lush green with dominating sage green colour.
TERRARIUMS by Sanderson – £79 per roll. A fabulous and on-trend design depicting plants encapsulated in a glass-domed terrarium. It will work well in period property but be careful if you have a low ceiling as the repeat pattern is quite large.
Fabrics
BLOOMSBURY by Timorous Beasties – – £130 per metre. It comes in three colourways and it’s absolutely magical and full of joy, as nature can be. Definitely one to put a smile on your face.
SANTA FE by Lucy Tiffney – £50 per metre. If you watched Interior Design Challenge on Channel 4 you will recognise Lucy. Lucy Tiffney was also a Finalist on BBC2’s ‘The Great Interior Design Challenge’ in 2016. Selected from over 4000 applicants to take part in the programme, Lucy fulfilled six beautiful and diverse interior briefs and won her way to the final. This fabric is a true representation of her flamboyant style and creativity. Worth checking out her other fabrics, wallpapers and accessories.
PASSIFLORA by Clarke & Clarke – £39 per metre. This one comes in five colourways and it is suitable for curtains, blinds & upholstery. If you are not sure about using a bold pattern on a large surface why don’t you try it on a cushion or a lampshade? I love the balance of greenery and flowers and the exotic feel to it.
