Jade lives in the beautiful city of Ely with her husband, Ryan, two daughters, Kairi and Naminé; and mini poodle, Coco. As a self-proclaimed Disney fanatic, if I ever get the chance to visit – she’ll no doubt be the source of all my knowledge. Founder of the blog, Mummies Waiting, Jade is often the blogger I turn to for technical advice or actually just a listening ear! Ahead, she shares her laid back approach to style, and why twinning is totally winning…
What is your daily skincare routine?
Erm, wipe of any make up if I remember. Does that count?! In the winter if my skin is feeling really dry or chapped I will use some coconut oil, but thats it.
Do you wear make-up? What’s your routine?
Yes, If I’m leaving the house.
Foundation first, applied using a sponge, then blusher (but a tiny bit as I brought one thats FAR to bright!), Eyeshadow (usually in gold) if it is one of those kind of days, take out my eyeliner to find it useless as a small child has had it and coloured their body in with it, mascara, eyebrow pencil and lip pencil if I am feeling like it. ALWAYS a bright red lippy. If I need to pop out and don’t want to do my WHOLE face, Red lippy and sunglasses work perfectly!
What do you do to style and care for your hair?
I would LOVE to straighten my hair every single day. But the truth is I enjoy laying in so much more that I just take my hair out in the morning, brush it and put it straight back into a bun. It’s so curly now I usually have to spend a week straightening it and wearing it down before a wedding, but it’s my fault, I should NEVER have shaved it off for charity when I was pregnant. The hormones turned my beautiful straight hair into an afro!
What’s your go-to ‘everyday’ outfit?
In the warmer weather its a black vest top and jean style shorts. In the Winter it’s Jeggins and a Black vest top. I like to spice it up though, from November to end Jan I will wear a christmas cardie over the top and at home I will wear a bright red dressing gown over the top too.
Where do you shop?
Primark. I’m always skint so the cheaper the better. Honestly I would love to shop Lindy bop and wear nice clothes, but our finances say no.
Do you have an all-time favourite item of clothing?
Not really, I don’t LOVE anything I own. I guess my wedding dress, but I can’t really wear that daily.
What was the most expensive item of clothing you’ve ever bought?
My 1 lindybop dress (and it was in the sale).
How do you change your look for a date night?
Date night, whats that?! I guess I put my Pjs on as I would rather be comfy when scoffing pizza and watching a film!
What’s your favourite thing about being a Mum?
At the moment it’s the most beautiful pictures. Kairi has just learnt to draw people so i get about 10 pictures a day of me and her as ‘best friends’ and that is just so magical!
Speaking of children, how do you like to dress your kids?
Like twins! (even though they are 2 years apart). I absolutly love to dress them the same, I think they look so cute. Dresses are the way forward for us too.
Have you got any ‘life-hacks’ for busy Mums?
Have a ‘busy box’. We have a busy box/home ed box/activity box and when the girls are bored they can grab something out and then I can continue to get stuff done.
Can you think of an occasion that you felt the most beautiful?
My husbands Christmas Party in 2015. I wore my dark green Lindybop dress for the first ever time and absolutly loved it. To be honest though, just being with him makes me feel so great.
Who is your style icon?
I don’t have one, I just want an award for getting dressed!
Is there anything you want to change about your style?
I’d love to wear nicer outfits! Skirts, Dresses, Tops and Bottoms. A whole new wardrobe would be amazing!
If you’re having a tough day, what do you do to make yourself feel better?
Put on some Christmas or Disney music and dance the troubles away. This usually helps with tantrums from the girls too
Thank you, Jade!
