I can’t believe that we’re already into the start of June – but despite the recent wet weather – that does mean that the summer holidays are right around the corner. With that in mind, I’ve been giving a lot of thought as to how I’m going to occupy the kids over those seven weeks! We’re lucky in Edinburgh that the Fringe brings all kinds of entertainment. I’m looking forward to some great shows this year but it’s still a long way off. With that in mind – I’ve been learning about summer camps. Or specifically, Step It Up Dance… View Post
Over the last month or so we’ve had to make some very difficult decisions about Thomas’ nursery care. We had been really happy with the care provided, but when management announced a number of major changes we really had to re-assess whether it was the right place for him. We were incredibly saddened that ultimately, the nursery appeared not to be listening to it’s own staff. Which gave us little confidence that they would bother listening to parents either. Everything just really seemed to lack common sense and has left us feeling really quite sad about the whole thing. Thomas… View Post
Nicola (otherwise known as Mummy to Dex) is my font of knowledge for Baby-led weaning and awesome recipes to feed small children. Not only is her site great for food inspiration, she shares her life with her beautiful son Dexter and their family life in Liverpool. I’ve loved getting to know her over the past few months and stalking her a little on Instagram! Thankfully, she’s stepped up to take part in my Mama Uniform Series to chat about Mum Buns, the best make-up, and the awesome Alexa Chung…

But the reasons we don’t have pets like these are countless. There are loads of cats in our local area. They populate our garden and are constantly fighting with each other.… View Post
We’re incredibly lucky to live in a city with such a varied program of events for children. This weekend is of course, no exception to that. I think it’s always good to try new things and embark on different adventures. Somehow we’ve never been to The Queen’s Gallery before so this one really caught my eye. If you’re free on Saturday afternoon why not head to the Family Activity day at Holyrood Palace?
